Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said dozens of parliamentary and local government by-elections delayed over fears of COVID-19 in the last two years will be held during the first quarter of 2022.
To date, there are 133 vacancies, 28 in the National Assembly and105 in local authorities across the country’s 10 provinces, making the by-elections a mini-dress rehearsal for the 2023 general election.
