Factsheet: Presidential Candidates for Zimbabwe 2023 Elections

The following are the Presidential Candidates for Zimbabwe’s August 23 national general elections, which was announced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) on June 22.

Two other candidates, Elisabeth Valerio of the United Zimbabwe Alliance and Linda Masarira of LEAD, who sought to register for the presidential contest were not on the ZEC list and have raised questions over the $20,000 entry fees and the processing of the fees by the electoral management body. Several other party leaders said they had not even tried to register as they regarded the fees as too high.
