The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) presided over the National Council of Chiefs elections in August as part of the national general election process. Thirty-six chiefs were duly elected across the country into the Zimbabwe National Council of Chiefs.

Who was elected president and deputy president of the Council of Chiefs?
On 10 August the elected chiefs voted for the president and deputy of the National Council of Chiefs.
President – Chief Mtshane Khumalo – from Matabeleland North was elected as president of chief’s council (formerly the deputy council president)
Deputy President – Chief Fortune Charumbira – from Masvingo (formerly the council president)
