Claim: A screenshot of a photo posted on X (formerly Twitter) is widely circulating on Whatsapp claiming Bellarmine Mugabe, the son of the late, President Robert Mugabe had purchased a yacht inscribed “Sekuru Bob.” The post which was originally posted on 15 November 2023 has so far reached 51,2K views by 21 August 2024.

Verdict: False
A reverse image search of the viral image shows that it has been altered using a photo editing application. The inscription on the boat was photoshopped onto an image of a yacht that has been featured on multiple websites dating back to 2018. One of the searches led ZimFact to a site called PhotoFunia which allows users to modify images.
